What is Mu Phi Epsilon? How Can I Join?

Mu Phi Epsilon is a co-educational international professional music fraternity founded in 1903. It is comprised of over 75,000 members in 128 Collegiate and 74 Alumni chapters in the United States and abroad. Its aim is to advance music in the community, the nation, and throughout the world through musicianship, scholarship, therapy, education, and service.

The Kansas City Alumni Chapter includes professional performers and educators as well as patron members, all of whom are continuously engaged in activities promoting music in our community. In addition to professional pursuits, members participate in thousands of hours of volunteer activities each year.

The chapter’s annual Scholarship Auditions, funded through patron donations, offer stipends up to $1000 for collegiate chapter members.

Benefits for professional members include performance opportunities and access to grant money for special projects and performances through the Mu Phi Epsilon Foundation.

It’s easy to become a member! Just go to the "Contact" page to request information. We welcome both professional musicians and patrons (nonprofessionals who love music and wish to offer their support through financial contributions and donating their time).
